Abril Daniel

Chief Operations Officer

Abril's commitment to compliance and effective treatment pave the way towards quality patient care.

Abril's previous work in behavioral health management at a nonprofit organization gave her the opportunity to thrive  by doing what she loves most, providing compassionate and effective support to prevent behavioral crisis. Her passion for helping others continues on at TMC as her collaboration with clients, families and care teams facilitates the development of  personalized treatment plans for our patients. Her collaboration with non-profit organizations will lead the way for TMC to provide services for the most under served populations. She hopes her focus on creating a supportive, accessible path to mental and behavioral health care will make a difference in the lives of all of our members of the El Paso community.

Maggie Romero

Chief Executive Officer

Maggie's dedication to the clinical growth of student practitioners and behavior supports for the adult populations is essential in supporting  El Paso ABA.

Maggie's previous work with Medicaid waiver programs for adults with IDD inspired her to co-found Coaching and Behavior Supports in 2020 to increase in person behavior supports in the region of El Paso.  In 2022 she stepped down from that role and continued to strive towards another one of her career goals, leading the next generation of BCBAs to apply their knowledge of ABA to a population that has played a significant role in their lives. In 2023 she created UnrestrictThis! a remote fieldwork program for student analysts which lead to the creation of TMC. The first verbal behavior clinic that grows along with the needs of every client regardless of their age and income.

BEHAVIOR SUPPORTS FOR ADULTS

Our in home services for adults emphasizes person-centered care.

We provide de-escalation training for behavior crisis to family members and staff who work directly with our learners.

Our goal is to increase self-regulation, self-advocacy and independence across all area's of our learner's life.

ABA CLINIC FOR CHILDREN

Our clinic based services focus on gradually thinning out a child's session structure to mimic a public school setting. Our goal is to increase independence of our learners for a smooth transition into the community upon graduation of services.

We encourage social validity in our treatment plans and emphasize family participation through our parent coaching program to support our learners outside of therapy.

Our team of clinicians take on a compassionate approach to ABA to prevent overstimulation and burn out of our learners.

LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE

Our Upcoming Projects & Vision

At TMC, we are committed to driving positive change in the lives of individuals and families, particularly those who need it most. As we look to the future, we are excited to share two transformative initiatives we are working on—projects that will make a real difference in our community and beyond.

Access for All: A Clinical Fellowship for Equitable Care

We believe every child deserves access to life-changing behavioral care—regardless of their background, resources, or circumstances. That’s why we’re launching Sunshine Grotto, a community-based clinical fellowship that empowers both students and the children who need us most.

Our Focus:

  1. Orphanages & Foster Care:Children in transitional living often lack consistent therapeutic support. We partner with local organizations to provide evidence-based ABA services—directly and at no cost.
  2. Families Facing Financial Hardship: For families unable to access clinical services due to financial or logistical barriers, we offer virtual and mobile ABA services, closing the gap between need and access.

How It Works:

This fellowship program pairs student analysts preparing for certification with licensed BCBAs to deliver care to underserved communities. Students gain invaluable fieldwork and supervision experience, while families receive compassionate, professional care—free of charge.

A Place to Thrive: Independent Living with Purpose

As part of our commitment to reimagining inclusive, person-centered care, we’re developing a private-pay residential community, Sunshade Haven.  Designed exclusively for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who may not qualify for—or gain access to—traditional state-supported residential services.

This gated community is more than just housing. It’s a place of growth, belonging, and dignity.

Key Features:

  • ABA-Guided Living Support:
Residents will receive daily living and behavioral support grounded in evidence-based ABA strategies—delivered respectfully, with autonomy at the forefront.

  • Integrated Employment & Skill-Building:
Residents can work on-site at community-run enterprises (gardens, cafes, packaging, etc.) or be supported in off-site job placements with vocational coaching.

  • Adaptive Living Spaces:
Every unit is designed for accessibility, sensory awareness, and safety—whether fully independent or with light daily assistance.

  • Community-Led Culture:
No judgment. No shame. Just a team of trained staff, peers, and advocates dedicated to honoring every resident’s right to independence and joy.

Affordability Model:

Because we know many families face financial barriers, residency will be offered through a flexible private-pay model.

Monthly costs will be based on a combination of:

  • The resident’s SSI/SSDI income
  • Sliding scale support from donors and sponsors
  • Optional family co-payments or scholarships, if needed

Our goal:

To ensure no one is turned away for financial reasons—especially not because the HCS waitlist is 10 years deep.

Our Mission:

We envision a community where adults with IDD don’t just survive—they thrive. They own their routines, build friendships, learn new skills, and contribute meaningfully in an environment built to support—not limit—them.

This is more than residential care.

It’s
a lifestyle rooted in respect, independence, and inclusion.

JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Both of these initiatives are part of our larger mission to empower individuals with autism and IDD, create opportunities for growth, and make a tangible difference in our community. We are excited to continue developing these projects and invite you to be a part of this important journey. Whether through direct involvement, advocacy, or support, together, we can create a more inclusive future for all.

Stay tuned for updates on these projects, and feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more or get involved!
